WBØPRH – SK Lynn Miller

KEARNEY — Lynn E. Miller, 78, of Kearney died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, at CHI Health Good Samaritan.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Alan Davis officiating. Burial will be at Kearney Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services and one hour before services Wednesday at the church.


Lynn was born on Jan. 14, 1940, in Kearney to Edward E. Miller and LoDesca A. (Nyquist) Miller. He was a lifelong resident of Kearney.

He was a graduate of the Kearney High School class of 1958 and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in music education from Kearney State College in 1965.

On Sept. 1, 1963, he was united in marriage to Peggy I. Rogers in Alliance. After graduating from college, he began farming and ranching and later worked in the appraisal and real estate field.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class in Kearney. He enjoyed serving his community through his involvement in Habitat for Humanity and was an active member of the Midway Amateur Radio Club and Nebraska Wing of the Civil Air Patrol.

Lynn was an avid University of Nebraska at Kearney Lopers and University of Nebraska Huskers fan and never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy of Kearney; and daughters, Robyn (John) Forkner of Spring Hill, Kan., and Brooke Miller of Kearney.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Lynn’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Good Samaritan Hospital for the kind and compassionate care given to Lynn during his illness.
